Cycle Kids is a not for profit organization dedicated to the health and wellbeing of young kids in the community. Cycle Kids helps to provide bicycles for children whom may not otherwise have access to one and also encourages healthy eating and living.
This project, completed in my second year of Graphic Design, focused on the creation of four unique desktop screens that are not only engaging but spread the message of what Cycle Kids is and their goals as an organization as a whole.
I was given the opportunity to meet with the target audience of the project, kids between the ages of ten and thirteen and gather information to further my designs. Using the information gathered and the message of Cycle Kids, I took my designs into space.
The reason for my choice of space was simple: the world is these kids’ oyster, so to speak.
My view of Cycle Kids was that they are giving kids the opportunity to break free from social and economic challenges and explore the world in their own ways. To be given the chance of a bike and get out and feel the world around them in new and amazing ways is dynamic and important and I wanted to reflect that in my desktop designs.
Planets, space and wonders of the unknown speak to the importance of the project and having kids on bikes, riding across planet Earth to the excitement of the unknown replicates my vision for the organization and they message they carry.
